St. Thomas Aquinas defeats Miami Northwestern in convincing fashion

St. Thomas Aquinas and Miami Northwestern, the Raiders and Bulls finally had the matchup everyone has been looking for August 31st. Broward versus Miami-Dade.

Between both teams, St. Thomas and Miami Northwestern have won three national titles since 2006 and 11 combined state titles.  However, Saturday night St. Thomas scored early and often in a 38-3 blowout victory over Northwestern in the season opener for both teams at Sun Life Stadium.

At the beginning of the game, the Raiders knocked Bulls starting QB Trevis McKinney out of the game, and punished Northwestern causing three Bulls turnovers.

The Raiders capitalized on a short field needing just four plays to get on the scoreboard when Madre London scored his first touchdown on a 7-yard run with five minutes left in the first quarter.

On their next possession, Raider Deltron Sands drilled in a 6-yard score that gave St. Thomas a 14-0 lead.  St. Thomas increased its lead further after Tyson Cisrow intercepted a  pass from Bulls QB in the second quarter and London capped a 12-play, 95-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run.

St. Thomas, now ranked #8 on the DigtialSports National Football Rankings, looks to improve upon their early successes when they take on John Curtis Christian Ranked #3 on Friday, September 13th, @ 8:00PM.
